Project in Inner Mongolia 40–50% LESS WATER. 60% LESS LABOR

Smart irrigation automation. This is not a pilot, not a simulation but a real irrigation automation project running in Inner Mongolia.

The farm grows corn and paprika on sandy soil (70%+ sand), where water retention is low and manual irrigation leads to over-watering, high labor costs, and equipment damage.

So what was done?

Irrigation valves are opened and closed with precise timing, removing human delay and inconsistency.

A centralized irrigation automation system was deployed, where valves, pumps, fertigation, and soil monitoring work together under one coordinated control platform, with full visibility of real-time data and historical performance.

LEVEL 1 — AUTOMATIC VALVE CONTROL

Here is how it works.

Result: up to 60% labor reduction and ~10% water savings.

LEVEL 2 — PUMP CONTROL WITH VSD

Pump operation and pressure are dynamically adjusted through PLC logic, ensuring stable hydraulic conditions and efficient energy use.

Result: up to 20% water and electricity savings and ~50% longer equipment lifetime.

LEVEL 3 — PRECISION FERTIGATION OVER TIME

Fertilizer and acid are injected gradually using PID control, with continuous monitoring to ensure accuracy and safety.

Result: 30%+ fertilizer cost reduction and improved soil condition.

LEVEL 4 — TENSIOMETER-BASED IRRIGATION PLANNING

Soil water tension is measured at root depth, and historical irrigation response is analyzed to determine the optimal irrigation amount for the next cycle.

Result: an additional ~20% water savings with no over- or under-irrigation.

One important point:

Automation supports decisions — it does not replace the farmer.

The system suggests optimized irrigation norms based on real data, while the farmer can: • Apply recommendations automatically

Or continue manual control while gaining confidence

This enables safe, gradual adoption instead of forced automation.

When all levels are active:

40–50% total water reduction

30% fertilizer cost reduction

20% energy savings

60% labor reduction

If you manage large-scale farms, work in water-limited regions, or are involved in irrigation projects and system integration — and want measurable field results, not theoretical solutions — let’s talk.
